Catering at this academy
Our catering service is provided by Innovate IFG, part of the Impact Food Group. Innovate is a well-established and experienced school caterer. The service is provided under contract with Harris Federation.
The menu runs on a three-weekly cycle and includes halal and non-halal options.
Our menu has been created after extensive research into student preferences; it is also nutritious and compliant with all government guidelines. The menu aims to offer more of what students want, including good food that can be eaten on the go.
Download the Eatwell Guide from Public Health England, which provides a useful overview of what food groups make up a balanced and healthy diet.

Students can speak with Ms Reid at break and lunchtime by the tills in the Canteen.
Allergies and Intolerances
Please inform our Student Services Manager of any food allergies or intolerances you may have. This information will be added to your medical record and will be referred to in the case of a medical emergency.
Food allergen information is labelled in BOLD on all pre-packaged food sold in our canteen. For all other products, please speak with our Catering Manager prior to consumption.
Free School Meals (FSM) and Uniform Grants
Some families may be eligible for school meals paid for by the government. Even if your child does not wish to eat meals prepared by the school, it is worth checking their eligibility, as each student entitled to free school meals could receive funding to help with tuition, uniform, equipment, coaching or a number of other resources.
To find out if your child is eligible, please use this link.
If you qualify, you should complete the FSM and Uniform Grant form at the bottom of this page and return it via email (admissions@harrispurley.org.uk) or hand a printed copy to our receptionist.
ParentPay
The academy operates a cashless catering system. This avoids the need for students to bring money into the academy and ensures payments for food and drink purchases are quick and simple.
The Academy will create a ParentPay.com account for all parents/carers during a student's enrolment. Parents/carers add money to their account through one-off or regular card or bank payments. Students access those funds using their thumb print at the tills.
When you log into the website or app, you can see how much your child is spending, as well as the type of items they are purchasing. Daily limits can also be placed on the account if spending becomes a concern.
A biometric consent form will be provided during the enrolment process. Please ensure you complete the form and return it to our admissions team prior to their induction day.

Parent View
Parent View is the Ofsted online questionnaire survey tool that enables parents/carers or in fact anyone with an email address to comment on a school against a set list of questions. Therefore it can be completed at any time during an academic year by people who do not have a child at the Academy as well as those who do. However it is not possible for the responses to be validated as completed by parents/carers of students at the Academy. The Academy therefore also uses hard copies of the same survey questions during Parent Evenings throughout the year for each year group in order to verify that the survey responses are completed by a parent/carer with a child/children in a particular year group at the Academy and discuss anything raised with parents/carers directly and also pass feedback to staff and Governors. https://parentview.ofsted.gov.uk/parent-view-results/survey/result/23154/current
